Creating a Header

While creating my header I had a lot of ideas running through my mind. Which pictures to use and how to mash them together? At first I struggled with cutting the image and moving it to the direct spot I wanted it. I ran into the difficulties in which I did not have the image on the right layer or the background layer was marked instead of the layer I needed. What came naturally was that I knew how to create the edges of the second picture look like they were part of the background image. I tried to make the taxi look like it was part of the beach image. Using the brush to clean the edges was easy considering paint has a similar application. I could definitely use my new found skill with Pixlr in everyday life. I could use the skill of taking two images and combining them to a future job. If I were to make flyers or make a presentation for a client I could use Pixlr to create images for the company. I think having the skill to navigate your way around Pixlr could definitely help in a Public Relations or graphic design based job. Pixlr is a well known photo editing site that is used by many companies to promote their photos to other industries. Having the knowledge of Pixlr will give you the extra inch to succeed in creating photos and combining different photo ideas.
In the Coleman readings, the author talks about hackers, phracking, and trolls. I believe in a way we hacked the pictures from websites and are using them on our blogs. We created a chat room where we can discuss pictures and opinions between other people. However, we will not be as vulgar or mean as the hackers are in their chat rooms but we still comment and try to give our opinions about other classmates work. The reading explained how technology advanced and how people advanced with it. The internet exploded and opened up to the public instead of just hackers. It is explains how hackers work and the difference between them and trolls and phrackers. I think we could use what we learned using Pixlr to become a hacker if we desired. We would hack these images and change the concept of them and the way the public viewed them.
